Does This Sound Like You?

Does This Sound Like You?

You are a deep thinker, leading a self-examined life, and a life-long learner.

You want to make the world around you a better place.

You might be a writer, an academic, a social justice entrepreneur, or working in a leadership role. Whatever you do, you have a desire or a mission to leave things better than how you found them.

You are an introvert.

You are intuitive, analytical, and a keen observer of the world. Others might label you as "detached" — which doesn't mean uncaring or unfeeling, rather, you appreciate your own self-sufficiency.

You seek the truth.

You often "tell it like it is," which sometimes gets you into trouble. Small-talk is anathema to you. You prefer a thought-provoking, deep conversation with one person over meeting 10 random strangers at a party.

When things don’t go your way...

You begin to doubt yourself, feeling like something is wrong with you. You get quiet, shut down, and isolate. You seek perfection, trying to control every detail — including the expectations of others. You may start negative forecasting, instead of focusing on what you can control at this moment, now.

You become defensive if you do not feel respected.

You become easily frustrated if your ideas are challenged or if you are not validated for your perspective. You find it difficult to hide how you are feeling and wear your emotions on your sleeve. Others might call you over-sensitive, but you prefer to believe that you are in touch with your emotions.

You lead by example.

Integrity, authenticity, courage, and transparency are important values to you — as are freedom, acceptance, and peace of mind. You want to make a difference in the world around you by having an impact, not influencing others.

You are a deep thinker.

You want to help people develop better and more thoughtful ways of thinking. This includes practicing humility, compassion, impartiality, open-minded flexibility, and non-contention.

If we don't accept ourselves, it's difficult to have compassion, empathy, or understanding for others.

When we love who we are without conditions and hold a vision for a better future at the same time, we can be the change we want to see in the world. Let's do that together! :-)
