Your Silence Has Never Protected Us

As Queer Leaders, we must stand against organized attacks on our rights, and lead with uncompromising principles.

If you’re openly queer and in a leadership position, you don’t get to sit this out.

You’ve already made one of the most profound personal transitions in life: you came out of the closet so that you could be all of who you are with pride.

Now, without apology, you need to embrace courage and take a stand for what’s right—for all of us.

Presently, our rights as 2SLGBTQIA+ people are under organized attack. These aren’t isolated incidents; they’re coordinated moves by heavily funded conservative and religious organizations and individuals to strip us of our right to exist as “equal citizens.”

Here’s some of what we’re facing:

  • Increasing global attacks on Trans lives, including bans on healthcare
  • Attacks on diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives and research
  • Erasure of queer historical and culture in the U.S. (Stonewall monument, Harvey Milk)
  • The U.S. Supreme Court’s upcoming review that could overturn the same-sex marriage ruling
  • Suggestions from U.S. politicians about re-criminalizing gay sex through sodomy laws

If you believe that someone else will handle it, you’ve already given away your power and your freedom.

Queer Leadership means choosing the disruptive, and often harder path.

However, this isn’t about replacing one system of control with another. It’s about disrupting systems that strip away rights and freedoms, and creating a society that liberates equally. That’s evolution, not revolution.

We must lead from transparent ethical principles that keep us grounded in conviction and determination.

We must stand for what’s right while building bridges of acceptance and connection, even as we resist those attempting to bulldoze our rights and freedoms.

If you’ve been silent until now, speak up and make your voice heard. If you’ve been watching from the shadows, step into the full spectrum of the rainbow!

This is OUR moment to take a stand for what’s right—to unapologetically own the freedom to live as ourselves without prejudice, without oppression, and without hiding.

When our rights are under coordinated attack, silence is complicity, complacency is surrender, and queer leadership demands disruptive courage.

Thinking critically, challenging social norms, and taking a stand for equal rights, dignity, and freedom is not just activism—it’s the essence of queer leadership.

But if you’re silencing yourself, second-guessing your convictions, or overwhelmed by what cause to support, you’re not leading with integrity.

That’s why I offer a one-on-one Queer Leadership Strategy Call. In this session, we’ll cut through the confusion and frustration so you can:

  • See where you’re silencing or self-censoring yourself.
  • Anchor your self-care in a way that strengthens your convictions and increases connection and influence.
  • Identify your most natural, effective way to communicate your ideas and lead others.
  • Clarify what it means for you to lead with queer integrity—so you can expand your opportunities, influence, and impact.

Don’t leave your leadership to chance. If you’ve ever thought, “Someone else will handle it,” this is your moment to stand up for what’s right with conviction and courage.
